From Southern California to Southern Maine

October 6, 2007

Look who I had my arm around this morning? Isn’t she cute? The best part is she doesn’t even talk back! OK, that was just a joke. Needless to say it was a fun filled morning hanging out with Lord Stanley’s Cup as it toured Southern Maine.  This year I’m hoping my team (that other Southern California team) will win it.  Go Kings!

Vietnam Wall Comes to My Hometown

October 1, 2007

Today I had the pleasure of visiting the traveling Vietnam Wall memorial that appeared in my hometown this week. Even though I’ve visited the actual Wall in Washington, DC quite a few times this was truly an educational experience. From hearing the stories to the memories of those who fought in Vietnam and lost family and friends. With some 58,000 plus names engraved on the Wall, as I sauntered across scanning the names of those who died knowing each name was a person that was loved by many who knew them. They all had a story to tell of their life. Each one was a biography. So many…too many.
